Frequently asked questions
What is a notarization?
As a notary commissioned in the state of Illinois, I am able to take an acknowledgment, administer an oath or affirmation, take a verification upon oath or affirmation, and witness or attest a signature. All services are performed in accordance with 5 ILCS 312/ Illinois Notary Public Act.
Do you have an office I can come to?
My business operates as a mobile notary service. As such, I do not have a physical business location. I am happy to come to you at your home, business, or a mutually preferred location.
Can a notary refuse to notarize something?
Although rare, yes we can. All notarial acts completed must comply with state law. As such, I have the right to refuse any notarization. Reasons for refusal may include if you do not have a valid, unexpired identification. I may also refuse if I feel the signer may be under duress or the influence of drugs or alcohol. Legally, I cannot perform notarial acts without first confirming your identity in accordance with state law and verifying you are signing the documents of your own free will.
Can't a bank just notarize my documents for free?
That's a great question! Banks do frequently notarize documents for free for their customers. However, if you do not have a bank account or have more complex needs such as loan signing or real estate, they may not be able to accommodate your needs. They also may not have weekend or evening hours. My business is helping to break these barriers and ensure all your signing needs can be met.
How can I contact you?
You can reach me by visiting the contact page here. I'm always happy to answer your questions!
Can a notary give legal advice?
No. Unless a notary is also a licensed attorney, they are not permitted to give legal advice. I am not an attorney. As such, I cannot tell you which notarial act to use (acknowledgement or jurat.) More information can be found as to why here.

You can view sample notarial language on the Services tab.
How much does it cost?
Pricing varies depending on the type of services needed, the travel distance, and any additional services - such as requests to mail, print, or scan documents. We offer a variety of options to fit your needs and budget. Please visit our pricing page for more information.
Are all notaries loan signing agents?
Not quite. While all loan signing agents must first be a notary, not all notaries perform loan signing agent services. Most signing agencies and title companies require additional training, certifications, and background checks to be a loan signing agent. As I am both a notary and a certified loan signing agent, I can be sure to meet your needs for a wide variety of signings.
What do I need for a notarization?
Sample state-approved language can be found on the services tab here. You must have valid, unexpired identification present as well.
